In these photos from about 1995, Route 287 construction is well under way with the Ringwood Avenue over pass completed (construction of this overpass began in 1992). The buildings visible on the earlier page are now gone with the exception of the smaller homes on the hill to the right. The northbound entrance ramp is being excavated.Take note of the billboard (as seen on the previous page).

Looking north and east, the smaller homes in the above photos were also soon gone. This ramp cut through what was the A & P and it's parking lot. The Wanague Supply is seen (looking west) in the photo on the right.

This is Union Avenue looking towards the Ringwood Avenue intersection. Photos below from August of 1996 show the construction of a southbound ramp and a Foodtown supermarket and a group of smaller stores. Since the construction of the supermarket, it has been changed several times and is currently a Stop and Shop supermarket.

The satellite photo is of upper Twin Lake and Union Ave. This photo was taken prior to the remnants of the Kearfott recreation area being demolished for the Holiday Inn Express that is now under construction. The area south of the Lake is the site of a proposed condo complex and part of Federal Hill. Elks Camp Moore is also at the bottom right.
